Group Retreats at Miraval Resorts

By Araxe Hajian

Stories from Arizona

Last fall, Julie invited her closest friends to celebrate her birthday at Miraval Arizona. They meditated on floating silks together and learned about their natal charts with an astrologer over happy hour. Her birthday dinner was a delicious feast at an in-room experience at The Retreats called Just Cook for Me. A chef-led team created, prepared, and served a menu of edible delights and exquisite wine pairings. They wrapped up their time together with a morning hike in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Following last year’s tax season, a group of women CPAs gathered at Miraval Arizona to recover, reset, and reclaim their spirits following a stretch of soul-crushing number crunching. Last spring, they tucked their phones into their sleeping bags, stretched out on massage tables, belayed each other on high ropes courses, and built their own charcuterie boards. Decimal points gave way to pressure points, math stepped aside for meditation, and equations and computations transformed into equine connections. It was such a success they decided to make it an annual event.

Sarah and her friends met in residency while pursuing their medical careers. Each year, this group of female physicians returns to Miraval Arizona to reconnect and focus on their personal wellbeing. This year, they flew through the desert skyline on our zipline together and honored each other in a post-dinner spiritual drumming experience at The Kiva, complete with s’mores.

What do these groups have in common? Celebration, reconnection, and relaxation.

They came to Miraval Arizona on a shared journey that began with mindful intention-setting. Each group gathered to make time for self-care and self-discovery in a setting that offers take-home tools and specialist-led experiences for creating and supporting balanced lives. As a group, they reminisced and made new memories as they rekindled feelings of inspiration, support, and camaraderie.

Miraval Resorts’ social retreats celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, time away, and much more. We provide a backdrop for reconnection among groups and couples seeking restful spa weekends or friends, families, and other social groups bonding through adventures in natural settings. More than a peaceful getaway, Miraval Resorts can become a shared quest for fun and limitless exploration.

All three of our full-scale resorts in Arizona, Texas, and Massachusetts offer social group retreats ranging from girls’ getaways and mindful bachelorettes or babylettes to couples’ retreats, family retreats, and reunions. Read below to learn how to book your group visit.
